October 2016 Issue — Hitting Pause

This will be the last issue of Word Riot for at least six months as we take a hiatus.

After 14 years steering this righteous beast, I’m tapped out and ready to pass the torch. Kevin O’Cuinn will oversee Word Riot as we head into 2017.

Word Riot changed the trajectory of my life. The friendships I’ve made with writers and artists through the magazine have been among my most formative. The (minimal) coding skills I cobbled together to piece this frequently hacked site in the early days made me employable in the shifting digital media landscape. I’m grateful. I’m humble. But it’s time for me to say goodbye.

Thanks for everything.

Best,
Jackie Corley
Ex-Publisher & Co-founder, Word Riot

Should I assume that my story TRIANGULATION which I submitted on 9/30/16 [that is, before your decision to go on hiatus] is no longer under consideration?
