Poetry

parts that i kept by Devin Kells

i thought i was done
with you
and
your parts

it had been
but it could’ve
been
a year
for all we
cared

we pushed ourselves together last night,
tried to make one living, breathing thing from two
and it was good

i took off my
shirt when i got home
from work tonight
and in a mat of crusty hair
on my navel was
a part of you i neglected to wash away

it was a part of you
i took with me
and
carried
all day

About the author:
Devin Kells is a fake name used by Devin Wade Walls, who thought that hiding his identity would be a good idea. Now he doesn’t give a damn. This is his blog: http://fanny-burney.blogspot.com/
