About the author:

June Sylvester Saraceno is chair of the English program at Sierra Nevada College and founding editor of the Sierra Nevada Review. She is author of Altars of Ordinary Light and her work has appeared in various journals including The American Journal of Nursing, California Quarterly, Common Ground, Ginosko, Haight-Ashbury Literary Journal, Poetry Quarterly, The Pedestal, Silk Road, Southwestern American Literature, Smartish Pace, Tar River Poetry and several anthologies including most recently A Bird as Black as the Sun: California Poets on Crows and Ravens.
